The first piece of news about the content of upcoming Emmy Awards  has arrived. Kate Gosselin, mother of eight and star of TLC's "Kate Plus 8", is set to open the awards show on August 29 with a number of other celebrities familiar to TV fans.
Reports said Gosselin, who is entourage season 6 dvd neither nominated nor announced as the presenter, will appear at the start of the show as part of a humorous sketch where she interacts with some of TV's biggest stars. The awards show's host Jimmy Fallon would be one of them and he, according to E! Online, would "kill it right out of the gate."
In an interview with Los Angeles Times last week, Fallon spilled a bit of what he would do as host. "It'll have the spirit of the late-night show," he said. "I'll do jokes and impressions, and we'll keep it very high-energy and positive and keep it moving, 'cause it's a great event." He added, "I don't want to spoil anything. But I think this is an awesome year for me to host, because TV has been fantastic this season."
The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on August 29 and aired live by NBC from Los Angeles'  er dvdNokia Theatre starting at 8 P.M. ET/ 5 P.M. PT. Nominees of this year's Emmys can be found here.

Fantasia Everybody Loves Reymond dvd Barrino has been hospitalized after a drug overdose that police have classified as a suicide attempt.
The 26-year-old past American Idol winner was dehydrated and exhausted Monday night when she took aspirin and a sleep aid, said manager Brian Dickens.
Her overdose was classified family guy dvd box set a suicide attempt by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and she was found by police with "possible internal injuries," according to People.
She was in stable condition late Tuesday and is expected to be released soon from a Charlotte, N.C., area hospital, Dickens said.

American Idol's Fantasia: Not responsible for breaking up marriage
Barrino's hospitalization follows allegations from a Mecklenburg County woman, Paula Cook, that the singer engaged family guy season 8 dvd in a "covert adulterous affair" with her husband, Antwaun Cook, and that Barrino was to blame for their separation in June.
Barrino denied that she was responsible for the marriage ending in a statement released Monday. However, in a new statement following her hospitalization, Dickens said Barrino dated Cook on and off for about 11 months after he told her that he and his wife had separated late last summer.
"Fantasia believed Mr. Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his was his father ted seasons 1-3 dvd heart was not in it," Dickens said, noting that Fantasia fell in love with Mr. Cook and she believed that he loved her.  
How the Writers' Strike, a Cross-Country Trip and a Little Music Helped Create Memphis Beat
Married TV Farscape dvd writers Liz Garcia and Josh Harto found themselves with some time off during the writers' strike of 2007-08, so they decided to hit the road. They drove cross-country, including through Memphis, where Harto used to take trips with his country musician grandfather. They fell in love with the city, and the idea for a TV show was born. Memphis Beat, starring Jason Lee as loveable, Elvis-obsessed Detective Dwight Hendricks, debuted on June 22 and focuses on its characters as much as the crime of the week. Garcia talked to TVGuide.com about the show's origins and what's to come this season.
TVGuide.com: How did you and Josh come up with the idea for Memphis Beat?
Liz Garcia: It started with the idea of doing a throwback cop show. ... Something that was really about cops as characters and that felt more realistic in terms of how they get their job done than a show that heavily features very expensive, cutting edge technology. The next step for us is always, 'Where are we going to set it? 'That's really where we get our inspiration. My husband... had this child's memory of Memphis as this exciting, gritty place with these neon lights and great food and  music pouring out of every bar and restaurant. It's not far from the truth!
During the writers' strike of '07 we drove across the country, stopped [in Memphis] for several days and really, really fell in love with it. We like to listen to the music of the place as we're writing. We started getting this image of this city with two faces: on the one side there's crime to grapple with and then on the other hand it's this really eccentric place. The food is amazing, people love to have a great time, the music is incredible.  That's where the tone of the show came through. [It's] funny and dramatic like the city.
